Responding to the theme of play, This work began as a mark on paper and soon evolved into the scroll you see below. Thinking of a video-game like format as its pretext, the story of the line is in the process even more so than the outcome.

The work reflected a series of ‘performative acts’ as I engaged my body and developed rituals around making. The use of tone and densiity of stroke required steady hands and controlled breathing for linear precision. The energence of the drawing was evocative of the meditative qualities of Buddist and Japanese philosophical practices.
